5 Minute DIY Shelf
DIY HOME DECOR | BUDGET FRIENDLY MAKEOVER | QUICK AND EASY DIY
If you’ve got an awkward corner and five minutes, I’ve got a solution for you!
My daughter does eyelashes and needed a shelf she could easily reach while working. She also happened to have an awkward corner nearby and a spare piece of wood in the garage…
In five minutes, we knocked out this little gem:
We found the amazing shelf brackets on Amazon. Sadly, the price has gone up a bit, but we found another option that is just as amazing:
we had everything else needed for the project on hand:
piece of 1x10 wood cut to 24”
BB Frösch Chalk Paint Powder
black paint (mixed with BB Frösch to make our own chalk paint—click here for how to make your own chalk paint)
small sponge (we just cut a piece from a large grout sponge)
jar of water
We also used:
Faux stain your board with black paint (or any color you want) mixed with BB Frösch. Click here for easy step-by-step instructions on how to faux stain.
Or, watch this quick video!
Once paint has dried (about 2 min), dark wax with BB Frösch Dark Premium Finishing Wax
Measure about 4” in from outside edges of board and attach brackets to shelf
Using the screw holes on the brackets as a guide, mark wall for shelf to hang level, then screw brackets (that are already attached to shelf) into wall
Step back and admire your handiwork:
