The brushes are the part you keep. Once you have a pair you like, they last for years, so there's no reason to buy them again.

Clear, Dark, or Both?
Clear is the one most projects need. It seals and protects your painted piece without changing the color you chose.
Dark adds depth. On bare wood it deepens and nourishes the grain, which is how you get a rich wood top over a painted base. On painted surfaces it settles into carved details, corners, and edges.
Clear + Dark is for two-tone pieces. If you're painting the body and leaving the top or panels in wood, you need both — clear for the paint, dark for the wood. Comes with a second huck cloth, because dark wax transfers pigment and shouldn't share a cloth with clear.
How It Works
- Clean it. Remove dirt, grease, wax, and any loose residue, then let the surface dry completely. That's your prep.
- Mix it. Scoop 2 heaping scoops of Paint Transformer into a jar with 1 to 1½ tablespoons of water. Mix until it's smooth as donut glaze with no lumps, then add paint to a half inch from the top and shake.
- Paint it. Thin coats. Two coats is typical. Let each coat dry completely.
- Seal it. Butter your brush with the wand — a thin layer of wax on the end of the bristles, never dipping into the jar. Work in small sections, wipe the excess with your huck cloth, then buff.
Don't let wax build up in the bristles while you work. That's what causes wax dust and pilling. One brush load should cover about a square foot.
The huck cloth is washable. Wash the wax out and use it again on your next piece.
